Springerville, AZ  The Hot Air Wildfire and the Bear Mountain Wildfire continue to burn. Both fires were ignited by lightning on June 22, 2008, when a thunderstorm passed through the area.

As the two-year anniversary nears of the start of construction work on Highway 273 between Sunrise Park and Big Lake, contract crews are working seven days per week trying to make as much progress as possible before summer monsoon rains start. Wet weather last summer in particular slowed work on the road.

October 6th, 2007 BIKE ROUTE AND VENUE: Based out of Thunderhorse Ranch, the Show Low Bluff Tour of the White Mountains is provided with ample playing area to accommodate our guests to the highest level. Within a quarter mile of the ranch's main gate the Tour route commences winding its way through forest service land for the next 66 miles. Packed with single-track and the occasional jeep road, the undulating terrain maintains a very rideable characteristic allowing it to welcome the novice rider while challenging the most seasoned rider.
