Holidays in the White Mountains

Do you want to escape the city and spend some extra family time up in the mountains this holiday season? The White Mountains of Arizona have a list of events that are sure to put you and your family in the holiday spirit.

December 5: Electric Light Parade

Along the Deuce of Clubs at 6 p.m.

The Annual Electric Light Parade along the Deuce of Clubs in Show Low is sure to bring anyone holiday joy. Watch as the line of floats, that are beautifully decked out in lights, pass through the Deuce of Clubs as you bundle up and sip hot chocolate with friends and family. The kids won’t want to miss a glance of Santa waving at the crowd as he takes a quick break from his workshop at the North Pole!

December 5: Show Low Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony 

Show Low City Hall at 180 N. 9th Street, sponsored by Show Low Main Street, at 7 p.m.

Start off your holiday season with the Show Low Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The community tree will be adorned with ornaments hand-crafted by Show Low’s elementary school students, making it a perfect weekend activity for the family to embrace tradition.

December 4 & 5: Santa & the Shoppes on Gingerbread Lane
2 – 8 p.m. on Friday, December 4 and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 5. Show Low City Campus Gym, 620 E. McNeil (free admission).

Bring the family down to the Show Low City Campus Gym for a day of holiday fun. Stroll through the gym and visit the Shoppes on Gingerbread Lane, which feature local artists, crafters, bakers, as well as home based and small businesses from all over the White Mountains. Get your holiday shopping done while the kids visit with Santa, all while supporting local business. Come experience the sights and sounds of the season as you stroll along Gingerbread Lane with family and friends, all while enjoying tasty holiday treats, listening to festive music, and visiting with Santa. December 4: Cakes and Cocktails

Presented by the Show Low Chamber of Commerce. 5:30 p.m. at Torreon Golf Club. Tickets $35 at the Show Low Chamber of Commerce or RSVP at

Head over to Torreon Golf Club on December 4th for a festive party filled with many delicious cakes and cocktails! Gather a group of friends and get in the holiday spirit over great conversation.

December 5: White Mountain Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert

NPC Performing Arts Center in Snowflake at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and at the door, Students $5, Children 5 and under free. Tickets available at Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside and Snowflake-Taylor Chambers of Commerce and at the door. Call 928-358-5629 for information.

December 12: Santa Fly-In

National Bank of Arizona, 1400 E. Woolford Rd., Show Low at 10 a.m.

Santa will take a break from the North Pole and fly-in and land at the end of Woolford road. Stop by the National Bank of Arizona, where the children can visit with him, his elves and the helicopter pilots to discuss their Christmas wishes over some candy and hot cocoa. December 31: Deuce of Clubs Drop
Festival Marketplace at 11 p.m.

Enjoy music, dancing and food all while counting down the final moments of 2015. Once the clock strikes midnight, celebrate the dropping of a giant electrified Deuce of Clubs from a crane at Festival Marketplace similar to the ball at Times Square in New York. Immediately following the drop, there will be a giant fireworks show to ring in the New Year.
